 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.

Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit. Even a fool, when he holdet his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.

There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand. The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar.

A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold. The rich and poor meet together: the LORD is the maker all the day long.

Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long.

Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:

A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring. It is not good to eat much honey: so for men to search their own glory is not glory.

The great God that formed all things both rewardeth the fool, and rewardeth transgressors.

Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.

The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
